Cup of Culture

Hi, I’m Sabina
The heart behind Cup of Culture
Keeping stories alive, one cup at a time.
I was born and raised in Barcelona, a place where culture lives in everyday moments—shared tables, long conversations, and the way food brings people together.

My journey later took me to London, where I earned my Bachelors in Psychology, and in Tucson, where I completed my Masters in Language, Reading, and Culture at the University of Arizona.

I have always loved traveling and immersing myself in different cultures. For me, food and drink have always been at the heart of that experience. What we eat and sip carries stories—of home, identity, memory, and belonging.

My love for experimenting with flavors and spices began early, thanks to my mom. She had a beautiful way of using different spices in our everyday dishes—not just to cook, but to keep meals exciting, comforting, and full of variety. Food was never boring in our home. It was layered, thoughtful, and full of warmth, and without realizing it, I learned how spices could transform something simple into something memorable.

Some of my most meaningful memories were made while traveling and sharing meals and cooking with my sister, Natasha. We would visit a new country, try something new, talking about what we loved, what we might add, what we could change. Those moments were filled with laughter, curiosity, and connection—simple drinks and shared rituals.

I’m a mom to my incredible 14-year-old, a wife to my supportive husband, and a proud fur-mama to two four-legged companions. For 12 years, I taught elementary school, and the greatest joy of teaching was hearing children’s curiosity about the world—their questions, their openness, and the way culture sparked wonder in their hearts.
